Avoid using retinoids, exfoliants, or harsh skincare products for at least three days before your microneedling session. Ensure your skin is well-hydrated and free of any open wounds or infections. Stay out of direct sunlight and apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your skin before the treatment.
During the microneedling procedure, a specialized device with fine needles will create controlled micro-injuries on your skin’s surface. The treatment typically lasts 30-60 minutes, and you may experience a mild prickling sensation. A topical numbing cream is often applied beforehand to minimize any discomfort.
Post-treatment, you may experience redness and mild swelling similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within 2-3 days. Keep your skin well-moisturized and avoid direct sun exposure, using a high-SPF sunscreen daily. Refrain from using makeup and other skincare products for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to heal correctly.
